Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo and Prada – the owner of this apartment is a dedicated fashion Aficionado and Sartorialist. The showrooms of these Italian luxury fashion designer brands are splendidly styled with elegance and atmosphere and were the main source of inspiration for a complete makeover of this apartment located on Lake Zurich. The client first wish was to replace only the old sofa in his reception room, but then quickly decided on a complete change of the interior, with customised finishes and furnishing that reenergize the atmosphere and underline his affection for Italian design aesthetics.
More than 600 sq. of premium dark rosewood now panels the wall of the 250.00 m² apartment. The 300-year-old rosewood has been polished seven times and coated with a vintage car finish technique by and Italian old-timer restoration workshop. This treatment gives the noble old rosewood a high-grade finish and a three-dimensional depth. The sheen rosewood clad entrance is soothed by a textured blue coloured three-piece painting.
The client asked for a room divider, also made of rosewood, leading from entrance area to living room area. To pay tribute to the owner’s passion for flying, the partition was designed with movable slats that reminds of aircraft wings. Further elements in the entrance area: A rounded console « Diva » by Potocco, gold plated coral lamps by Charles Paris, ceramic series of Henge, silk wallpaper by Vescom, a Tai Ping silk carpet and folded chairs by Maxalto.
AISLE WITH CUSTOMISED CHIMNEY AND COSY LIVING ROOM
The aisle leads to a custom-made chimney. On the left side of the chimney is the client’s favourite morning spot for having a breakfast with his wife, an Italian styled conservatory equipped with Maxalto chairs, floor lamp by Flos and Italian limestone panels.
An oversized couch landscape, by Flexform decorated with silk and leather cushions dominates the living area. The red vase on the Minotti couch table are one of the client most favourite design elements and are handmade by Rina Menardi.
The dining area consist of eight leather B&B italia chairs, geometrically arranged on the B&B dining table under stainless steel Coltrane suspension lights designed by Delightfull. Customized tablecloth tailored by Ivano Redaelli.
OFFICE AND LIBRARY
The sheen rosewood panels continue to mark its masculine presence in the home office studio. A leather coated office table, Eames’ iconic aluminium chair, and a B&B Italia sofa chair covered with Romo fabric, complete the owner’s office room. Decoration material on the cupboard were selected by Objet de Curiosité.
DINING AREA AND OPEN SPACE KITCHEN
The makeover continues in the customised kitchen, where the front has been replaced by anodized aluminium cover and kitchen appliances by Gaggenau were installed. Highlight: Integration of humoristic details like the porcelain fish heads on the wall by Hering Berlin.
